XML Conversion Engine

DataDirect XML Converters are high-performance Java and .NET components that provide bi-directional, programmatic access to virtually any non-XML file including EDI, flat files, and other legacy formats. DataDirect XML Converters allow developers to seamlessly stream any non-XML data as XML to industry-leading XML processing components or to any application.

DataDirect XML Converters™ is designed to provide maximum productivity, scalability and extensibility for tackling enterprise data integration challenges. Here are some of the key features that make this possible:

• Knowledge about thousands of EDI schemas (EANCOM, EDIG@S, EDIFACT, HL7, IATA, and X12) and flat file types (CSV, tab-delimited, and more)
• Streaming conversion of EDI and flat tile types to XML
• Support for streaming interfaces including StAX, SAX, XmlReader, XmlWriter, DOM and I/O, which drastically reduces the amount of memory required when processing large EDI and XML documents — including files in the multiple GigaByte range
• Full support for .NET and J2EE environments; J2EE deployments are as simple as adding a JAR file to the application Classpath
• Support for stand-alone applications, J2EE application server applications, BizTalk applications and XQuery-enabled applications

XQuery Engine

DataDirect XQuery is an implementation of XQuery that queries XML, relational data, SOAP messages, EDI, or a combination of data sources. It provides fast, reliable, and scalable XQuery support for all major relational databases, and it runs on any Java platform. These are just some of the relational databases supported by DataDirect XQuery®:

Other features that make DataDirect XQuery® such a crucial component of any data integration solution include:

• XQuery API for Java (XQJ) — DataDirect XQuery® implements XQJ, which allows developers to dramatically simplify Java programs that work with XML and relational data. Using XQJ, you can connect to XML data sources, prepare and issue XQueries, and process the results as XML.
• Database Connection Pooling — DataDirect XQuery® provides connection pooling at the JDBC level by integrating with your application server's JDBC pool manager, allowing you to leverage any connection pooling you may be using with other JDBC applications.
